What is SSD? And HDD?

SSD vs HDD

HDD stands for Hard Disk Drive. These are the more traditional rigid disks, consisting of a rotating magnetic disk and a moving head that runs along its surface. They are older, cheaper and are still in greater numbers than SSDs but, having moving parts, they are slower, consume more energy, have greater wear and tear and risk of breakage.

SSD stands for Solid State Drive. This is a more modern technology that is gradually replacing the HDD, not only in servers, but also in personal computers. These units are more expensive, but at the same time they are much faster, consume less power and have greater durability.

All Clappbox hosting plans offer storage on SSD servers.
